That he better be locked into a 2C or 3C position throughout the term of that deal or FLA is (frank)ed.

If they can teach him to be more than a crash-bang player then he is totally worth it. He has a lot of physical talent, but the lack of IQ was what holds him back. I am rooting for him.

Flames are notoriously slow starter.

If he can play that way for 82 games. Tough to be that physical and when he's not, his low IQ becomes more noticeable. |

Florida put him with top 6 players and gave him pp time and he produced 20 points in 15 games ….I’m happy for him… guy wasn’t drafted as high as he was to be a 4th liner …flames (frank)ed his development up and now Florida will be rewarded

LOL.. well that's one thesis, but honestly it doesn't explain the night & day difference between his regular/post season play... |

Yes good for Benny. Honestly, even when he was put on top line in Calgary, it didn't work. He just fits better with Florida's players than Flames top 6.
Also interesting now that Florida has acquired Reinhart ... they own 3 of the top 4 draft picks in that draft year: Ekblad, Reinhart and Bennet |

My feelings exactly.
For those that say he didn't perform when put in the top 6 in Calgary, all I say is that he was shuffled in and out of the top 6 too quickly. These guys want to feel valued and when they're not it shows in their play. He was never given 10 games in a row to show what he could do. |

Looks like they have let him play center with actual top 6/top end talent ….you drafted a centre 4th overall to spot him in on the wing in the top 6 or play him center in the bottom 6 …..every game he plays for the panthers is egg on flames management face |

Seems like he is just playing center with actual skilled players ….

Before bringing in more UFAs, Treliving must make hockey trades to fix the room and change our losing culture. |

Looking back at his trades I don’t know if I want him bringing players in …he seems to get good value trading away players for picks….. when he tries to add players he gives up more than he should |

I think that should hopefully motivate Bennet to progressively succeed year after year. |

Quenville is one of the best coaches, ever. He should be able to help Sam learn and progress. |

I agree completely. Sam has a lot of talent and potential to be a true power forward, but he was simply never given the chance to succeed in Calgary. |

I hope when Sam plays the Flames that he burns them with scoring and crushing hits every time for the rest of his career. |
